  • What is private room karaoke?

    Private room karaoke means your krewe gets the room to yourselves–no KJs or long waits for the microphone. Sing freely, control the vibe, and enjoy great sound and lighting without the stage fright or the crowds.

    Rockabye makes singing easy—with a fully digital catalog and intuitive controls for sound, key, and tempo. All songs are queued using our iPad or directly from your own smartphone.

    Do we share rooms with other groups?

    Private rooms are yours alone. The Greenroom is private when booked as a buyout, or may host public sessions depending on the night.

    How do we choose the right room?

    Not sure which room to book? As a rule of thumb:

    • B-Side: cozy groups who want turns on the mic

    • Side A: medium groups who want energy without chaos

    • Greenroom: big voices, big moments

    How many people fit in a room?

    Our private rooms accommodate small groups up to about 25 guests, depending on the room. Groups larger than 25 can be accommodated through a full space buyout.

    Max Capacities:

    • B-Side: 10 people

    • Side A: 15 people

    • Greenroom: 25 people

  • Do I need a reservation?

    Walk-ins are always welcome, but reservations are strongly recommended, especially on Fridays and Saturdays when we fill up early. Our space is limited so advance bookings are the best way to guarantee your plans.

    How long should we book?

    Sessions start at 2 hours, which gives you time to sing about 25 songs. If you have a bigger group or want to keep the fun going uninterrupted, you may want to consider a longer session.

    We’ll check in along the way and give you a 30-minute heads-up before your end time. You’re welcome to ask about extending your session. If we can accommodate it, we will!

    Is there a minimum or maximum booking time?

    All private rooms have a 2-hour minimum. Longer sessions are welcome and popular for bigger groups.

    Can we extend our session once it starts?

    If the room is available, absolutely. Just ask your host and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

  • What should we expect when we arrive?

    Arrive a few minutes early to get settled in the space and start your session on time. Our team will help you check in, show you how to use the controls, and get you singing.

    What happens if we’re late?

    Our session starts at the time you booked it. If you arrive late, we’ll still do our best to get you settled quickly—but we can’t extend sessions beyond the scheduled end time.

    Can I decorate the room?

    Yes, decorations are welcome. Early access for decorating cannot be guaranteed, but we’ll always do our best to accommodate requests.

    All decorations must be fully broken down by the end of your reservation.  We’re happy to provide you with some painters tape for signs and banners.  No glitter, confetti, feather boas, fake snow, fog machines, or silly string. Helium balloons are welcome and must be weighed down.

  • Is Rockabye BYOB?

    Yep, Rockabye is BYOB-friendly. Each reservation includes a solid selection of mixers, ice, cups, straws, and use of our coolers. Specialty non-alcoholic beverages and bagged ice are available for purchase.

    What kind of mixers are included?

    Every reservation includes classic mixers like club soda, tonic, Coke, Diet Coke & Sprite.

    Do you provide alcohol at all?

    We don’t sell alcohol on-site. Bring what you love and we’ll handle the rest.

    Do you allow outside food and beverage?

    Guests are welcome to bring in their own food and beverages.  Shareable items like pizza, sandwiches, and sushi make great additions to the night. Messy or strong-smelling foods don’t love low-lit karaoke rooms…and your microphones will thank you.

    Celebrating something?

    Let us know–we have all you need for serving cake–plates, forks, napkins, and serving utensils

  • What karaoke system do you use?

    We use Karafun. It’s packed with over 50k songs and adds 400+ tracks each month.

    Do we need to know how to use the system?

    No prep required. We’ll show you everything when you arrive—it’s intuitive and easy to use.

    Can we adjust the sound?

    You control volume, key, and tempo—so everyone gets their moment.

    Is seating provided?

    Yes—every room has comfortable seating so you can sing, sip, or spectate.

    Is there air conditioning?

    Yes. Every room is climate-controlled.

  • Where are you located?

    We’re located off a courtyard in the back of Merchant House at 1050 Calliope St., New Orleans, LA 70130. There is no street-facing entry, so we’ve marked the way with red lighting.

    To find us:

    • From the corner of Magazine & Calliope, head toward the river and look for a red light halfway down the block. Just pass this light you’ll find a gate that leads to our entry off the courtyard .

    • From Constance & Calliope, you’ll see the red lights marking Rockabye from the street. Head towards Magazine and access the courtyard through the gate on your left.

    What are your hours & age policy?

    Thursday–Saturday: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

    Sunday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

    Monday–Wednesday: Closed

    We are 21+ after 6:00 PM.

  • Can Rockabye host large groups or buyouts?

    Yes! We offer full space buyouts for large groups, private events, and off-hours celebrations.

    Can you host kids’ parties or daytime events?

    Yes. We offer buyouts outside normal hours, including kids’ birthday parties during the day.

  • How does payment work?

    A deposit secures your reservation. You’ll close out at the end of your session for the room and any add-ons.

    Is the space accessible?

    Yes, Rockabye is wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you have specific needs.
